Education is the process through which a person is taught better ways of
doing something or a better way of living. Academic excellence alludes to
superiority in academic attainment and the production of high quality
personnel which is so essential in the overall national development for the
improvement of the welfare of the people. It reflects a cut above the main
stream in topic, content and delivery, with an edge and verge for better
enhancement with less effort.
Human resource development on the other hand, essentially relates to the
formal education, training and utilization of human potential for social and
economic progress. Human resource is the most important national asset,
since development starts with people and ends with people.
Education and Human Resource Development are inextricably related to ensure
an optimal human resource development leading to reduction of poverty across
the world. Countries that have invested in quality education as part of an
integrated approach to social development have seen positive results such as
slower population growth, faster economic growth and a higher level of
social development.
